I missed orientation from The Daily Texan, so that's the end of that. I kind of hated it, so I'm not heartbroken. I wrote my first composition in spanish today. I wrote about mi hermana, Lynda. It was funny. We went to Mozart's yesterday. A coffee shop on the lake. I finished reading Lysistrata and poured out some random thoughts. I wonder if my friends in Houston really did get annoyed with my habit of spitting out random facts. They always rolled their eyes and laughed. I keep being told I'm random. I don't know.

random facts are fun
i think of it as an invitation for a conversation
and sometimes you actually get a good one started that way
i do that all the time
i remember my first "work lunch" i went to
i spit out a random fact
something about an art group that had done performance art in the esplanade at a high traffic area during morning rush hour here in houston - the idea was to bring art and beauty into a morning ritual - i never saw it - but the interviewer on the radio brought up the fact that it was sort of odd as most people only got a passing glimpse of several individuals all dressed in white splayed out in differnet positions all over the esplanade - unfortunately it didn't make sense to anybody
then the conversation turned to rituals and various group acts - which in turn led to the ritual of tree hugging - at some point - someone mentioned the city of friendswood - then i took up that piece of thread and started talking about how friendswood was named after a religious colony who ritualized the changing of the seasons by joining in the creation of life out under the full moon - on this particular night - no one was married to anyone - everyone was married as a group - so everyone was sleeping with everyone - which is why it was called friendswood

random
oh yeah
forgot to mention
the friendswood thing is completely made up
i did pretty good though - i kept a straight face and managed to add in some interesting details and expounded on this for about 10 minutes before i just started laughing and then cracked
when i told my co-workers that i'd made up the friendswood story - they were shocked and amused - and then they insisted that the performance art thing was made up as well
although that part was true
hahaha. That's pretty good Carol. Every time I meet someone who's majoring in theatre I think hmmm.... Carol would be an awesome improvisation teachor or something or other...
Oh yeah and Lynda I will post my composition or send it to you through e-mail. It says something about amable and interesante. I had few describing words to work with in the book so I just kind of lied. haha
