Verisimilitude

There are so many things wrong with our political system its disturbing. Politicians are liars; and what I think is worse is that they not only lie to us, they lie to themselves. Politicians do not rely on the little bug in their conscience that guides their personal morality. Instead, they look to statistics on what the majority feel. Their actions are not driven by personal passion and the desire to change for the better; they're in it to win, to taste as much power as possible. This shows itself in Guiliani's change of heart toward immigrants. NYTimes
It's disheartening to see the leaders of our country being inconsistent with their values. I really hope that at some point a genuine heart enters our government.
